STEP UP Advocates serve on the front lines of shifting gender equity in physics.
Advocate Program
STEP UP Advocates are teachers of physics implementing STEP UP curriculum in their classrooms to inspire young women to pursue physics. Selected teachers join a cohort of physics educators from three specific regions centered around Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. LA regional training and events are run by the local Regional Coordinator, PhysTEC Leads, and Ambassadors.
Cohort 1
Cohort 1 Advocates are comprised of LA County high school physics teachers from the 2023-2024 school year.
Cohort 2
Cohort 2 Advocates are comprised of LA and Orange County high school and two-year college physics teachers from the 2024-2025 school year.
Cohort 3
